Global music icon Ed Sheeran surprised fans in Bengaluru with an impromptu street performance, only to be stopped midway by local police. The singer, who was performing his smash hit Shape of You, was reportedly asked to halt the gig despite insisting he had prior permission to play.

Videos of the incident quickly went viral, showing Sheeran entertaining a growing crowd before police intervened. While the exact reason for the disruption remains unclear, sources suggest concerns over crowd control and traffic congestion led authorities to step in. Fans expressed disappointment but praised the singer’s effort to engage with his audience in an intimate setting.

Sheeran, currently in India for his Mathematics Tour, took the incident in stride, reportedly assuring fans he would make it up to them during his official concert. The moment added to the excitement surrounding his visit, with social media buzzing over the unexpected street gig.

The British singer-songwriter continues to enjoy immense popularity in India. Thousands look forward to his performance. The concert in Bengaluru will be quite a show. There was one brief setback when police stopped Ed Sheeran from performing a street gig in Bengaluru.
