Al Ahly defeated Al Ain 3-0 in the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup, moving them a step closer to a dream final against Real Madrid in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup™.

Next, the Cairo Giants will play either Pachuca or the CONMEBOL Libertadores champions in the FIFA Intercontinental semi-final at Stadium 974 in Doha on December 14th. The winner of this match will then face Real Madrid for the Intercontinental title at Lusail Stadium on December 18th.

Al Ahly controlled the match at Cairo International Stadium from the start. In the 32nd minute, Yahia Nader’s misjudged backpass was intercepted by Wessam Abou Ali, who calmly slotted it past Khalid Eisa.

After halftime, Emam Ashour doubled Al Ahly’s lead with a brilliant volley. Despite a tactical change by Hernan Crespo, bringing on Matias Segovia, Al Ain failed to create chances against Al Ahly’s solid defense, led by Rami Rabia.

In the closing minutes, Omar Kamal was fouled in the box, and Mohamed Afsha scored the penalty to complete the 3-0 victory.
