Authorities across the UAE have announced free parking and extended public transport hours to accommodate the expected surge in commuters during the Eid Al Fitr holidays. The move aims to ease congestion and provide greater convenience for residents and visitors celebrating the festive occasion.
In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that all public parking spaces (except multi-story parking) will be free throughout the Eid break. Additionally, metro and tram services will run longer hours, while extra bus trips will be scheduled to accommodate heavy passenger flow.
In a similar vein, Sharjah and Ajman have increased the frequency of public buses to important locations, such as shopping malls, mosques, and tourist attractions, and provided free parking in designated areas. Additionally, authorities in Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi have taken action to guarantee hassle-free transport and efficient traffic flow throughout the holiday season.
With the Eid rush expected to bring heavy traffic, officials urge residents to plan their journeys in advance and use public transport where possible. Travelers heading to airports or major attractions should expect increased demand and allow extra time for their commute.
