Sriram Rajagopalan, a former Chennai, India, engineer, had won the Dh100 million ($27 million) Emirates Draw MEGA7 jackpot on March 16, 2025, one day after celebrating his 56th birthday. He randomly chose the winning numbers—11, 30, 12, 17, 10, 33, 24—by tapping blindly on his phone screen with his eyes closed.
Emirates Draw, run by Tycheros, clarified that the winner’s prize amount is \\$27 million. Due to the importance of the figure, the payout process is carried out considering multiple factors, such as the safety, security, and convenience of the winner. The company has delivered past grand prizes through several secure means and timelines, and always in full accordance with international guidelines.
The $27 million MEGA7 jackpot is still up for grabs every Sunday for overseas players. UAE residents are no longer able to take part in Emirates Draw since new rules by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) have been implemented as of January 2024. The UAE’s first nationally licensed lottery is now offering a grand prize of Dh100 million in its ‘Lucky Day’ game.
Sriram spoke with deep gratitude in a tearful letter to Emirates Draw, writing, “No more sleepless nights filled with worry. No more sacrificing dreams to survive. Because of you, my family will never have to struggle again.”
