Argentine officials have charged five people in connection with the tragic death of Liam Payne, the globally known singer who fell to his death earlier this month in Buenos Aires.
The charges, which include negligent homicide, manslaughter, and drug-related offenses, were recently reported by local media, according to TMZ.
One of those charged is Payne’s friend, Roger Nores, who admitted to leaving the singer at the CasaSur Palermo hotel about an hour before the fatal fall. Nores has been charged with negligent homicide and is barred from leaving the country. However, it’s unclear if he has been detained, as reported by TMZ.
Two others, Braian Paiz, a waiter, and Ezequiel Pereyra, a CasaSur hotel employee, face charges for supplying drugs to Payne. Investigators allege that they provided him with cocaine, which he consumed before the incident.
The hotel’s managers, Gilda Martin and Esteban Grassi, have been charged with manslaughter. Prosecutors claim they failed to address conditions that may have contributed to the tragic event.
Reports state that Payne, 30, fell from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo hotel after spending the day drinking whiskey and using cocaine. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the music industry and his global fanbase.
According to TMZ, a judge had earlier approved a request to charge Nores with abandonment, hinting at potential further legal actions.
The investigation is ongoing, and all five accused individuals have been summoned to court as authorities work to uncover the details surrounding Payne’s heartbreaking death.
