With May around the corner, UAE residents need to take note of numerous important changes that will affect day-to-day living, traveling, and public services. The updates range across transport, tourism, online communication, and environmental regulations, capturing the country’s changing nature.

1. New Bus Routes in Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is introducing new bus routes to improve connectivity throughout the city. These new routes will cut down travel time as well as offer more effective public transportation services for commuters.

2. Global Village Shutdown: Dubai’s favorite entertainment and cultural hub, Global Village, will shut its doors on the current season early in May. Locals and tourists alike are invited to check it out prior to the shutdown.

3. Compulsory Thailand Arrival Card: People intending to go to Thailand should now fill in a compulsory arrival card prior to entry. This is one of the measures taken by Thailand to simplify immigration procedures and improve security.

4. WhatsApp Update: An updated version of WhatsApp will come with added features to enhance the user experience, such as more privacy options and increased functionality for group chat. Users will be prompted to update the application to be able to use these new features.

5. Implementation of Climate Law: New climate legislation centered on sustainability and environmental conservation will be enforced in the UAE. The law will bring into play carbon-emission-reduction initiatives and encourage green projects within many sectors.
