Fog Alert: Red and Yellow Warnings Issued in UAE Due to Dense Morning Fog

A thick layer of fog enveloped residents in the UAE on Monday morning. It is affecting areas such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, and Umm Al Quwain.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued red and yellow fog warnings. They are advising motorists to exercise caution on the roads until 9:30 am due to significantly reduced visibility.

The fog was especially dense in locations like Al Falah, Saih Shuaib, Rizeen, Al Ajban, Abu Al Abyad in Abu Dhabi and Al Khaznah in Al Ain. In Dubai, visibility was severely impacted along routes in Al Aweer, Warsan, Al Khawaneej, and Emirates Road.

Drivers are urged to slow down and be extra careful while navigating through the fog. In a social media update, the NCM shared real-time visuals and advisory posts to inform the public about the foggy conditions.

Weather Forecast
The NCM predicts that once the morning fog clears, the UAE will enjoy generally sunny weather with occasional partial cloud cover. Humidity levels are expected to rise overnight and into early Tuesday.

There is an increasing likelihood of fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas once again. As the season changes, sporadic fog incidents are anticipated, particularly during the early morning hours.

Temperatures will vary across different regions, with high temperatures projected between 33 to 38°C in inland areas. The temperature along the coast is 31 to 35°C and 23 to 28°C in the mountainous regions.

Light to moderate winds from the Southeast to the Northeast will be present. These winds will range from 10 to 20 km/h, with gusts potentially reaching up to 30 km/h.

The seas will remain relatively calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Calm seas will make it a good day for coastal activities.
