The UAE authorities have issued a fog alert, asking motorists to be more careful as the dense fog has reduced visibility in many parts of the country. Abu Dhabi Police have specifically asked drivers to follow the changing speed limits and adjust their driving behavior to ensure safety on the roads.

1. Impact of Fog on Road Visibility:

The dense fog, which has covered areas like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, has reduced visibility to a great extent, making it difficult for drivers to see ahead. This has raised concerns over accidents and traffic jams. Authorities are advising drivers to be extra cautious and reduce their speed to avoid collisions.

2. Significance of Speed Limit:

Abu Dhabi Police reminded drivers to maintain lower speed limits and reduce it even more when necessary according to the speed limits posted on the affected roads amid torrential fog expected throughout the morning. And so far, according to police officials, motorists should increase the space between their cars in anticipation of sudden stops.

3. Public Safety Measures and Recommendations:

In addition to observing speed limits, the police have advised drivers to use fog lights if available, maintain full control of their vehicles, and avoid sudden lane changes. Those with limited visibility should pull over safely until conditions improve. The alert also reminds motorists to check weather updates before traveling during such adverse conditions.

4. Current Weather Conditions and Update:

Ongoing weather monitoring will continue with further updates as necessary. The UAE’s weather services are urging caution on affected roads, and travelers are urged to check developments via official sources.

Foggy conditions will persist and, thus, motorists of the UAE are all urged to enhance safety measures and observe traffic advisories to prevent accidents.
