Mala’s remarkable life, from being left blind as a baby in a dustbin, to that of a Nagpur collectorate officer, has moved hearts nationwide. It is a tale of grit, perseverance, and a determination with an unstoppable will to overcome. In the face of adversity, Mala’s resolve was what changed her life, proving the might of hope and the need for self-faith.

Her path to success was facilitated by the kindness of Padma Shri awardee Shankar Baba Papalkar, who adopted her and gave her the care, love, and support she required to succeed. With his guidance, Mala defeated the obstacles presented by her blindness, performing well academically and professionally. She credits her success to the supportive environment created by her adoptive father and her own determination to serve her community.

Mala today is an officer in the Nagpur collectorate, and she is a hope to others like her, especially those who undergo similar challenges. Her motivational tale remains alive as a reflection of the miracle working potential of love and education.
