The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has issued a strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli attacks on Syria, particularly the occupation of the buffer zone along the Syrian border. In an extraordinary meeting convened in Kuwait City, GCC foreign ministers underscored the necessity of respecting Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. They urged the international community to take decisive action to stop these aggressions and ensure Israel’s withdrawal from all occupied Syrian territories.
Additionally, the GCC reaffirmed its commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability. The ministers highlighted the urgent need for comprehensive political and economic reforms to assist Lebanon in overcoming its crises and denounced the persistent Israeli aggressions that have led to considerable civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure.
The council’s statement emphasized the critical importance of maintaining regional stability and security, calling on all parties to adhere to international law and strive for a peaceful resolution of conflicts. The GCC’s unified position conveys a strong message of solidarity with Syria and Lebanon, advocating for an end to foreign interventions and the safeguarding of their territorial integrity.
