A tragic accident unfolded off the coast of Goa when a tourist boat sank near one of the area’s popular beaches, leading to the death of one passenger. Police have confirmed that of the 23 individuals on board, only two were not wearing life jackets. The incident took place late in the afternoon, sending shockwaves through the local community as rescue teams hurried to the scene.

Eyewitnesses reported that the boat, carrying a group of tourists, seemed to struggle in rough waters before it capsized. Emergency response teams arrived promptly, rescuing 20 passengers, many of whom were in distress following the sudden sinking. Local authorities received praise for their quick actions, with most survivors being brought to safety within minutes.

Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the cause of the accident. While authorities have ruled out foul play, it is believed that the rough sea conditions played a role in the incident. The two passengers who were not wearing life jackets are receiving treatment for injuries, and their condition is stable. Police have also advised tourists to take additional safety precautions when participating in water activities.

This tragic event has led local tourism officials to reassess safety protocols for tourist boats in the region, urging operators to implement stricter safety measures and ensure that all passengers are equipped with life-saving gear. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, but the local community has expressed condolences and support for the victims’ families.
