Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has unveiled the ‘National Service Athlete Program’, a groundbreaking program intended to assist top Emirati sportsmen conscripted into national service. The initiative is meant to reconcile national obligation with sporting achievement.
The program is a joint initiative of the UAE National Service and Reserve Authority and respective sports councils. The program provides for ensuring the ability of talented sportsmen to pursue professional training and competitions in addition to their national service duties, enabling them to serve their nation both on the playing field and in uniform.
The transition is an indication of the UAE’s firm dedication to producing world-class athletes and highlights the significance of harmonizing national service with long-term career establishment. By means of specialized training schemes, support services, and synchronized timetables, the program assists in the reduction of disruption to sports performance.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that supporting athletes is a strategic national priority, and this program will prepare a new generation of disciplined, committed, and competitive sportsmen who can represent the UAE at international events with pride and resilience.
