Hania Aamir Dropped from ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ Due to Post-Pahalgam Tensions, Reports Suggest

Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, who was all set to make her Indian movie debut with Diljit Dosanjh in “Sardaar Ji 3”, is said to be replaced in the movie after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025. The attack, which killed 26 tourists in South Kashmir, has heightened diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan, which has resulted in increased scrutiny of cross-border cooperation in the film industry.

As per several media reports, the producers have been mulling over reshooting Hania’s scenes with some other actress even though the UK shooting schedule for the film was wrapped up last March. No official word from the production unit or Hania Aamir has come as yet, but the decision goes in line with a larger tendency of moving away from Pakistani performers in Indian films with rising geo-political tensions.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has again called for a blanket ban on Pakistani artists working in India, adding to the complexity of the possibilities of cross-border artistic collaborations. This move also puts other projects featuring Pakistani talent, like Fawad Khan’s much-awaited Bollywood comeback in “Abir Gulaal”, in jeopardy of release issues.

Public response to the news has been divided. While some netizens approve of the move, considering it a stand that had to be taken in the wake of recent developments, others feel that art must be above political agendas and that individual artists must not be held accountable for larger geopolitical tensions. Fans currently wait for official word on whether Hania Aamir will be part of “Sardaar Ji 3” and the direction the film will take.
