England’s captain Harry Kane has said that supporters could be “bored” listening to his record goal tally. The 31-year-old striker, who has scored 69 goals in 103 international games for England, made light of the reaction of the public towards his feat.
Kane, who broke Wayne Rooney’s record to become England’s record goal-scorer, mused over how frequently the record is being talked about, as if the fans were tired of the headlines.
Much as he joked, Kane continues to be keen on guiding England to victory at the coming European Championship. He remains a central player for both his country and his current club, Bayern Munich.
The forward reiterated that his drive comes from team achievement and not from individual glory, as he sets his sights on taking silverware back to England after the long dry spell.
