A remarkable rescue by UAE residents has saved the lives of three young Emiratis who found themselves stranded at sea near Al Rams, Ras Al Khaimah. The group, out fishing, encountered danger when rough waves made it impossible for them to return to shore.
Colonel Ahmed Salem Al Mazoud Al Shehi, head of the Al Rams Comprehensive Police Station, reported that the situation escalated when one of the fishermen called for assistance. The National Ambulance and the Ras Al Khaimah Police’s Search and Rescue Department were quickly dispatched to the location. However, several brave citizens had already intervened when they arrived, successfully rescuing the men and bringing them to safety.
The individuals, all in their 20s, were assessed on-site by medical professionals and found to be in good health. Col Al Shehi commended the heroic actions of the citizens and highlighted the significance of public cooperation in emergencies.
He also urged the community to exercise caution when engaging in sea activities like fishing or swimming, especially during unpredictable weather conditions. “Being mindful of tides and sea conditions can help avoid such perilous situations,” he advised.
This rescue exemplifies the UAE’s spirit of solidarity and prompt action in emergencies. It follows a series of similar incidents that underscore the importance of community awareness and preparedness while enjoying the nation’s coastal waters.
