For luxury yachts like the ‘Lamborghini,’ rates have yet to be finalized, but they’re expected to be significantly higher possibly double or triple the standard prices. Normally, this yacht costs Dh15,000 per hour, totaling Dh120,000 for eight hours, but on NYE, the price shoots up to about Dh360,000.

For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, some yachts are available for Dh65,000, offering a trip that spans the last hours of 2024 and the first few of 2025.

Despite the high costs, demand remains robust. Shani Tareq, operations manager at Elite Rentals, noted that his company already has 10 bookings for December 31 and expects this to increase to 30 as NYE approaches.

Captain Aakash Ghimire from Liberty Yachts shared that prices can increase up to five times for NYE. “A six-hour trip that typically costs Dh12,000-15,000 rises to around Dh65,000-75,000,” he explained. When asked if customers find the prices shocking, he said it’s expected and well-understood that NYE yacht prices in Dubai are steep.

Why Choose a Yacht Over a Restaurant?

Aakash highlighted the value of choosing a yacht over a restaurant. Booking a table near the Burj Khalifa fireworks can cost Dh4,000 per person. For a group of 10, a yacht becomes a more memorable and cost-effective way to celebrate.

Some restaurants in Dubai even have a minimum spend of Dh5,000 per person for a prime view of the fireworks.

High Demand for Yachts on NYE

According to Suku S., sales manager at a yacht rental company, only two yachts remain unbooked. He estimated that around 800 yachts will sail from Dubai Harbour on New Year’s Eve.

Among the early bookers is UAE resident Jamila M., who will celebrate with 70 friends and family members. She booked her yacht weeks in advance to ensure affordability for her guests. “It’s shocking to see a yacht that costs Dh6,000 for six hours on a regular day go up to Dh75,000 for NYE,” she said.

Jamila’s group, mainly Brazilian expats, decided to bring their own food, sharing dishes to reduce costs further. Many of her friends and family will be seeing Dubai’s dazzling fireworks for the first time.

Excitement and Safety Measures

Visitors like Sohad Haikal and Raphael Teofilo from Brazil are eagerly awaiting the experience. Raphael shared, “We hope this will be a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime celebration.”

Navigating the waters during NYE can be hectic, with numerous boats following similar routes, from Marina to JBR, Bluewater, Atlantis, and Burj Al Arab. However, Captain Aakash assured that captains receive thorough training to ensure passenger safety.

To enhance security, Dubai Police will deploy 33 rescue boats, ready to assist partygoers and maintain safety during the celebrations.

Conclusion

Dubai’s NYE yacht experience offers a unique way to welcome the new year, blending luxury, excitement, and stunning views. While prices are steep, the demand reflects the unmatched appeal of celebrating on the waters amidst the city’s iconic festivities.
