Ever booked tickets for a movie and then had to cancel because of last-minute plans? It’s a common scenario, but if you’re in the UAE, there are ways to handle it.
The UAE is home to four major cinema chains: Reel Cinemas, VOX, Novo, and Roxy. Each offers options for rescheduling or refunding tickets, but the policies vary. Here’s a simple guide to help you navigate these rules.
Reel Cinemas
Locations: Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, The Springs Souk.
Rescheduling Tickets:
- Visit the box office at least two hours before the movie starts.
- Rescheduling depends on seat or showtime availability.
- Only tickets purchased without a bank offer are eligible for changes.
Refund Policy:
- Refunds are provided as Reel Cinema gift vouchers (not cash).
- A Dh5 fee is deducted from the refund amount.
VOX Cinemas
Locations: Multiple spots across the UAE, including Mall of the Emirates, Yas Mall, and Dubai Festival City Mall.
Rescheduling Tickets:
- Call the VOX call center at least 30 minutes before the movie starts.
- Tickets purchased through bank offers or during promotions cannot be rescheduled.
- Changes are valid only for tickets booked via the VOX app or website.
Refund Policy:
- No cash refunds; refunds are issued as VOX credits (1 credit = 1 dirham).
- Credits are valid for 90 days from the refund date.
Restrictions:
- No refunds if the movie starts in less than 30 minutes.
- Tickets with food combos, bank offers, or collected at kiosks are non-refundable.
Novo Cinemas
Locations: Sahara Centre, Mega Mall, Dragon Mart, and more.
Rescheduling Tickets:
- Tickets can be rescheduled at the box office at least two hours before the showtime, based on availability.
- No changes can be made after the movie starts.
Refund Policy:
- Novo Cinemas does not issue refunds under any circumstances.
Roxy Cinemas
Locations: Dubai Hills, City Walk, The Beach, and others.
Rescheduling Tickets:
- Tickets cannot be canceled or rescheduled after payment.
Refund Policy:
- Refunds are unavailable, even if customers don’t attend or collect tickets.
