The Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) insurance is a compulsory unemployment protection scheme in the UAE, aimed at offering financial security to workers in the event of job loss. Residents are required to enroll to evade fines, with penalties given to those who do not register or renew their policies within the scheduled time.
To enroll, employees can sign up online through the ILOE portal, the UAE’s official insurance companies, bank mobile apps, or kiosks. The premium is charged based on the salary range, with a minimum of AED 5 per month, and benefits of up to 60% of the previous salary for three months.
Failure to comply results in fines of AED 400, whereas inability to pay premiums for a long time can result in further penalties and work permit suspension. The insurance has to be renewed on time in order to enjoy continuous coverage.
With the enrollment deadline looming, UAE workers are advised to enroll quickly to achieve financial protection and save unnecessary fines.
