India managed to avoid a follow-on as the third Test against Australia appears to be heading for a draw

India managed to avoid the follow-on in the third Test against Australia, thanks to an unexpected and heroic 10th-wicket partnership between Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep. With India fighting to stay in the game, the two players defied expectations, showing remarkable resilience and composure to ensure their team avoided further damage.

The match, which had been largely controlled by Australia, now seems headed for a draw, as India finished their innings with a more respectable total, preventing Australia from enforcing the follow-on. Bumrah, typically known for his bowling, showcased his batting skills, and alongside Deep, they added vital runs that helped India stabilize their innings.

Despite India’s spirited fightback, Australia still maintains a strong position in the Test, with their earlier dominance in both batting and bowling making it unlikely for them to lose. However, Bumrah and Deep’s partnership has provided India with some hope and confidence as they approach the final stages of the match.

As the third Test draws to a close, both teams will reflect on key moments and individual performances. While the match is likely to end in a draw, Bumrah and Akash Deep’s determination until the end offered a glimmer of resilience in what has been a challenging encounter for India.
