Red alert issued as torrential rains batter Ajmer and surrounding districts. A dramatic video from Rajasthan has gone viral, showing a man being swept away by raging floodwaters before being heroically rescued by a hotel worker. The terrifying incident unfolded amid severe monsoon rains that have triggered flash floods across the region, prompting school closures and a red alert in several districts.

Caught on Camera
The video captures the man struggling helplessly in the gushing water, swept down a flooded street in Ajmer. As bystanders shout in panic, a quick-thinking hotel employee risks his own life, leaping into the current and pulling the man to safety — drawing praise for his courage and selflessness.

Rajasthan is crippled by torrential rains.
Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Tonk are among the places that have been submerged as a result of drainage systems being overloaded by constant rain and rivers overflowing their banks. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts, warning of more intense downpours and potential landslides.

Schools Closed, Emergency Teams Deployed
Authorities have shut down schools and colleges in the worst-hit zones and mobilised disaster response teams. Rescue operations are underway in multiple areas, with boats and helicopters on standby for evacuation.

Public Urged to Stay Indoors
Officials have urged residents to stay indoors, avoid flooded roads, and follow weather advisories closely. Emergency helplines have been activated, and shelter homes have opened for those displaced.

Heroism in the face of disaster:
The hotel worker’s brave act has become a symbol of hope in a region reeling from nature’s fury. As floodwaters rise, so too does the need for preparedness, unity — and kindness.
