A horrific murder case has emerged in India in which a woman and her boyfriend are said to have murdered her husband, a Merchant Navy official, and hid his body in a cement drum. The motive for the gruesome murder, police claim, was the extramarital relationship of the couple.
Law enforcers discovered that the two strangulated the victim prior to dismembering him. They then put his body parts in a big plastic drum, cemented it and stored it inside the victim’s own home in order not to arouse suspicion.
The offense was discovered by neighbors complaining about a stench, which led to the concealed body being uncovered by authorities. The wife and her accomplice have since been detained and indicted for murder and tampering with evidence.
The incident has raised an outcry from the local public, highlighting an increase in domestic violence and crime of passion cases in the country.
