Vasanthi Cheruveettil, a 59-year-old Kannur-based tailor from Kerala, has proved it possible to walk alone to Everest Base Camp by relying on guts and YouTube instructions. Vasanthi is an autodidact trekker who prepared carefully for more than four months based on the available online instructions in order to refine her physical fitness and trekking skills.

Her remarkable journey started as a personal challenge but quickly turned out to be an example of courage and endurance. In the face of uncertain weather, altitude issues, and remoteness, Vasanthi achieved the challenging trek, demonstrating that passion and determination can conquer age and disability.

Talking about her experience, Vasanthi explained how sewing clothes taught her patience and concentration required for the expedition. Her story has since gone viral, inspiring many to pursue their dreams despite background or age.

With the successful completion of her Everest Base Camp trek, Vasanthi is now looking for new adventures, still inspiring as a symbol of empowerment and self-belief.
