iPhone 17 Rumor Roundup: Bigger Screens, Higher Price Tag, and Potential Tariff Trouble?

As the tech world buzzes with anticipation, early iPhone 17 leaks and rumors are painting a picture of a sleeker, larger, and potentially more expensive device. Insiders suggest Apple is working on bigger display sizes across the lineup, with the Pro Max model rumored to push past 6.9 inches, the largest ever on an iPhone. These changes are aimed at enhancing user experience for media consumption, productivity, and gaming.

Alongside the screen overhaul, analysts hint at a redesigned chassis, improved cooling systems, and a potential move toward under-display Face ID technology. CAD renderings leaked through the supply chain show a slimmer bezel design and possibly even a lighter titanium build. With iOS 19 also in development, Apple appears to be positioning the iPhone 17 as a major leap forward.

However, the euphoria is tempered by price concerns, particularly as rumour rises about a 25% tariff on Chinese-made smartphones. If approved, these duties could result in a considerable price hike for US purchasers, putting the iPhone 17 Pro versions well above the $1,299 threshold. Apple is apparently looking into production options in India and Vietnam to mitigate geopolitical risks.

With the official launch expected in September 2025, consumers are watching closely as Apple navigates innovation, manufacturing challenges, and global trade uncertainty. If these leaks hold true, the iPhone 17 could be the company’s boldest—and priciest—update yet, sparking both excitement and debate across the tech world.
