Iran Port Blast Injures at Least 115 as Massive Explosion Rocks South

At least 115 individuals have been reported injured following a huge explosion that ripped through a strategic port in southern Iran, updated figures released by state media reported. The explosion, which resulted in widespread panic and extensive structural damage, has left the country reeling and sparked fears over safety standards at one of Iran’s most important trade centers.

The blast, concentrated in the Shahid Rajaee port dock, released a humongous cloud of smoke into the atmosphere, seen for miles. Emergency services descended upon the site to remove the injured, who suffered burns, fractures, and other life-threatening injuries. Rescue efforts continued late into the night as officials labored to cordon off the area and keep it free from further accidents.

Initial investigations indicate that the dangerous substances in the port might have been the cause of the fire, though no official cause has been determined. The government has directed a complete investigation and officials have promised improved safety procedures at key national infrastructure stops to avoid similar incidents.

The Shahid Rajaee port is a vital artery for Iran’s imports and exports, and the blast’s impact is expected to ripple across trade activities in the coming weeks. As recovery efforts continue, authorities are urging citizens to stay away from the affected area while safety assessments and clean-up operations are underway.
