The UAE government issued an urgent travel advisory calling on citizens to use caution and postpone travel plans to impacted areas, as continued military clashes between Israel and Iran wreak havoc on air travel throughout the Middle East.
The advisory comes on the heels of massive flight cancellations, reroutes, and delays by top UAE airlines such as Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, and Air Arabia. With airspace closures in the region and increased security alerts, air operations are being vastly disrupted.
A release by the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Emiratis to remain informed through official sources, postpone non-essential travel to risk-prone countries, and seek advice from embassies or consulates in an emergency.
Airlines are also in close cooperation with the authorities, keeping the fast-changing situation under close monitoring. Passengers scheduled to fly to destinations within the region have been advised to monitor flight statuses prior to airport departure and anticipate possible delays or diversion routes.
The travel warning comes against a backdrop of heightened anxiety regarding the safety of civilian air corridors, as some foreign airlines also suspend services across portions of the Middle East.
What travelers need to do now:
Track airline announcements regularly.
Reach out to your airline or travel agent to explore rebooking opportunities.
Sign up with the UAE embassy if traveling within the region.
Be vigilant for official warnings from UAE and destination governments.
