Following Israel’s missile strikes on Iranian sites, UAE-based Etihad Airways has announced a number of flight delays and cancellations as regional airspace becomes more restricted. The airline said that it is closely monitoring the situation and prioritises passenger safety above anything else.
Flights to crucial locations such as Tehran, Tel Aviv, and parts of Europe have been halted or redirected to avoid potentially hostile skies. Similar problems have been reported by other UAE carriers as regional tensions affect civilian aviation routes across the Gulf and elsewhere. Passengers are reminded to check flight statuses on a regular basis before heading to the airport.
A representative for Etihad Airways stated: “We are taking precautionary measures in alignment with aviation advisories and working closely with air traffic authorities to ensure the safety of our crews and guests.” The airline is providing flexible rebooking alternatives, including full refunds or alternate travel dates, for anyone affected.
With additional airspace restrictions expected, travellers are encouraged to monitor airline updates and official travel advisories. The geopolitical crisis has created uncertainty in regional travel, and the UAE’s aviation authorities are on high alert to deal with any escalation.
