Over 200 educators, parents, students, and policymakers from Dubai’s private education sector joined the first-ever E33 CoLabs session. This event focused on workshops and discussions to speed up the implementation of Dubai’s new education strategy, Education 33 (E33).
The E33 CoLabs launch marked the start of a series of collaborative sessions aimed at refining and implementing key projects under the E33 strategy. During the inaugural session, attendees explored how E33 is already in action, driving positive change in Dubai’s education system.
Unveiled in October by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, E33 places the learner’s journey at its core.
This strategy moves away from traditional institution-focused models and adopts a learner-first approach that caters to each individual’s unique needs. E33 is aligned with the Dubai Plan, Dubai Economic Agenda D33, and Dubai Social Agenda.
Her Excellency Aisha Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), spoke about the vital role of collaboration in shaping the future of education. She highlighted that the E33 strategy was built on a foundation of teamwork within Dubai’s education community.
She said, “E33 is not just a plan; it’s a strategy in action. Collaboration has always been key in our education sector. Today, we are bringing this spirit to life by transforming classrooms, empowering parents and teachers, and preparing every learner for future opportunities. Together, we are building a future where education is impactful, inclusive, and lifelong, making Dubai a global leader in innovation and excellence.”
Game Changer Initiatives
E33 features 28 “Game Changer” initiatives being introduced in phases to enhance education and drive innovation across all levels. Some initiatives, like ‘Al Freej Nurseries,’ ‘Dubai Flagship University,’ ‘All Rise,’ and ‘Excel Anywhere,’ are already underway.
At the E33 CoLabs event, participants collaborated on solutions and prototypes for 10 of these initiatives. These projects target various goals, such as improving education quality for Emirati students, attracting top educators to Dubai, preparing Emiratis for leadership roles, advancing vocational training, boosting student and teacher wellbeing, and helping parents actively guide their children’s learning journeys.
The event’s workshops and discussions allowed attendees to create actionable and impactful solutions for these initiatives, ensuring the strategy is both practical and effective.
Her Excellency added, “We are deeply thankful for the enthusiasm and ideas shared during our first CoLabs event. This success highlights the strength of our education community. We’re excited to keep working with educators, parents, and students to fine-tune and implement the E33 strategy. This is just the start of a journey to build a better future for every learner.”
From early education to higher learning and beyond, the E33 strategy is designed to equip students with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed and contribute to Dubai’s future.
