In a significant act of spiritual solidarity and hospitality, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has approved the hosting of 1,000 Umrah pilgrims from 66 countries as part of a special initiative for the Islamic year 1446 AH (2024).
This program, managed under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Guests Programme for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit, aims to strengthen ties between Islamic nations while ensuring a smooth and enriching experience for the pilgrims.
A Spiritual Gift
The initiative will accommodate pilgrims in four groups throughout the year, providing comprehensive support that includes transportation, lodging, and guidance services. The chosen pilgrims will have the chance to perform Umrah rituals at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
Officials state that the program is designed to enhance the pilgrims’ religious journey and create an environment that reflects the values of Saudi Arabia’s leadership in serving the Muslim community.
Enhancing Global Islamic Unity
“This initiative showcases King Salman’s dedication to promoting unity and collaboration among Muslim communities around the globe,” said a representative from the General Authority for Care of the Two Holy Mosques. The program also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to expand religious tourism and improve the experiences of pilgrims.
