Kuwait has denied claims circulating about a Jordanian woman being assaulted in the country’s deportation prison, also known as the temporary detention centre. The authorities have thoroughly investigated the matter and found the allegations to be false.

The General Department of Security Relations and Media issued a statement explaining that the incident was reviewed transparently under the supervision of senior officials. These included the Director General of the General Administration of Correctional Institutions and a representative from the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

As part of the investigation, the woman herself was questioned directly about the claims of assault. She denied the accusations, confirming that all procedures and interactions she experienced were lawful and respectful. Authorities also noted that the woman was in good health.

The statement emphasized Kuwait’s dedication to human rights in all security processes. It also warned that the government would take legal action against those spreading false information or rumours.
