As 29,000 complaints about citizenship are filed, authorities examine the adjustments. Kuwait is advancing legal amendments to its citizenship law in a bid to safeguard national identity and curb fraudulent claims. The proposed changes come amid a broader government effort to tighten verification processes and address long-standing concerns over forgery and illegal naturalization.

Officials revealed that more than 29,000 grievances have been filed regarding citizenship status, prompting a renewed push to review and revise legal frameworks. The Ministry of Interior is reportedly prioritizing transparency and legal integrity in citizenship procedures, especially concerning documentation authenticity.

The move has sparked public debate, with supporters citing the need to protect national demographics, while others call for clearer criteria and transparency in processing existing claims. Authorities maintain that the amendments will strengthen Kuwait’s legal and social structure, ensuring that citizenship remains tied to legitimate lineage and legal standards.
