A resident of Mandaluyong City has claimed the ₱331,359,271 (approximately $5.9 million) Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot from the May 17, 2025 draw. The winning combination—30-29-42-28-02-43—was generated through the Lucky Pick system, where the machine randomly selects the numbers.

Winning the prize was almost like a dream, according to the winner, who has been betting on lottery games for the past ten years. He expressed that he was already losing hope and questioned if anybody really wins in lotto. He believes this win will bring significant changes to his life.

Despite the life-changing amount, the new multi-millionaire remains grounded and compassionate. He expressed a desire to donate to an animal shelter to house stray cats and dogs that have no place to stay.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) reminded winners to claim their prizes at its main office along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City within one year from the date of the draw, as specified in Republic Act 1169. A twenty percent tax is applied to all lottery jackpot winnings. To claim the prize, the winner must write his/her name on and sign the back of the winning ticket and present two government-issued IDs.
