The Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH), Dubai’s aerospace platform focused on advancing the aviation sector, has entered into an agreement with International Energy Resources (IER) to establish a cutting-edge MRO and engine test cell facility at Dubai South.
IER specializes in two main areas: energy and gas turbine turnkey solutions, offering in-house engineering, production support, and maintenance management for both light industrial and aero-derivative gas turbine overhauls and repair services.
The new facility, covering 880,000 square feet, will offer a range of services, including the manufacturing, repair, and overhaul of gas turbine engine components, as well as performance testing.
It will also feature a unique engine test cell capable of testing both aero engines and aero-derivative industrial engines, with an initial capacity of up to 50 engines annually. The facility is set to be completed in two phases, with the first phase finished by Q4 2026 and the second by Q3 2027.
Tahnoon Saif, CEO of Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, commented: “We are delighted to partner with IER MRO Industries, a key milestone in our mission to collaborate with industry leaders that will reinforce Dubai’s status on the global aviation stage.
