As Ramadan 2025 draws near, Saudi Arabia has made an official declaration that Mecca’s Grand Mosque and Medina’s Prophet’s Mosque will host a total of 10,000 worshippers who will be undertaking Itikaf, a very spiritual Islamic observance marked during the last ten nights of the holy month.
The authorities have also organized special guidance sessions and Quran study circles for the devotees, so that they have a complete spiritual experience. These initiatives are designed to increase the importance of the Itikaf and enable the participants to immerse themselves in acts of worship and contemplation.
This follows Saudi Arabia’s wider initiatives to facilitate easy operations at the two holy mosques, where millions of pilgrims visit annually. Special arrangements for crowd management, sanitation, and health facilities will also be made.
With a boost of international pilgrims anticipated, both mosques will provide additional facilities and multilingual assistance, assisting in creating a peaceful and hospitable environment for the pilgrims who visit from across the world.
