Mohamed Alabbar Critiques Office Meetings, Calls for Action at Dubai Forum

The head of Emaar, a UAE businessman, Mohamed Alabbar, boldly declared that office meetings often do not yield tangible results. In an open speech at the Dubai International Project Management Forum, Alabbar discussed the inefficiencies of traditional business meetings and encouraged leaders to be more action- and outcome-oriented.

Alabbar believes, though vital, these frequent meetings that transpire would mostly become too cyclical without definite outputs. Meetings must shift into “faster motion and rapid response to actions set and accomplished promptly”.

The remarks, delivered in front of an audience of industry leaders and professionals, sparked discussions on how to improve business practices. Alabbar’s critique resonates with many who feel that corporate cultures can sometimes prioritize discussion over decisive actions.

As business evolves, Alabbar brings home the point that efficiency, direct output, and results should take precedence. Such views correspond with the rising demand for a results-oriented culture in the fast-paced current business environment.
