Shami’s estranged wife and daughter in trouble after a viral assault video

Hasin Jahan, the estranged wife of cricketer Mohammed Shami, and her daughter Arshi Jahan are in deep water in court after a video of a violent altercation in Suri, West Bengal, went viral. Amidst a contentious land dispute concerning building on property registered in Arshi’s name, a neighbour named Dalia Khatoon filed a police complaint after the video went viral online, accusing them of attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, and assault.

Local sources claim that when Khatoon attempted to stop development on the disputed plot, the conflict intensified and resulted in the physical altercation shown in the widely shared video. Both Hasin and her daughter are formally named as culprits in the FIR, and the West Bengal Police have opened an enquiry.

This controversy takes place in the midst of a contentious and well-publicized legal dispute between Shami and Jahan, which has involved disputes about support payments and claims of domestic abuse. Only days prior, Shami’s emotional 10th birthday tribute to his daughter Aaira went viral, a heartfelt gesture overshadowed by these fresh allegations.
