Nepal Couples Adopt ‘Clay-Date’ Trend for a Creative Valentine’s Day

For Valentine’s Day this year, Nepalese couples traded in conventional celebrations for a do-it-yourself experience—literally! Engaging in ‘clay-dates,’ couples created clay shapes representative of their relationship and creativity in a new and touching manner.

The trend, which was picking up in pottery studios throughout Nepal, enabled couples to create anything from sentimental mementos to abstract art. The hands-on activity not only ignited imagination but also strengthened bonds, as couples worked together to mold their creative expressions of love.

Most of the participants have termed the clay-date as a welcome respite from traditional dinners and presents, a fun and meaningful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The exercise also encouraged mindfulness and collaboration, making it an ideal bonding activity.

As experiential dates gain popularity, pottery classes in Nepal are experiencing a boost in reservations, demonstrating that love can indeed be molded—one piece of clay at a time!
