Oman has officially designated January 12 as a national holiday to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s ascension to the throne. This day represents a significant moment in Oman’s contemporary history, honoring Sultan Haitham’s leadership and his contributions to the nation’s development and stability.

Sultan Haitham took over the leadership of the Sultanate in 2020, following the death of his predecessor, Sultan Qaboos. Since then, he has aimed to uphold the policies of Sultan Qaboos while guiding Oman towards economic diversification, enhancing regional diplomacy, and promoting sustainable development. His leadership has earned him respect both at home and abroad.

The holiday will provide Omanis with an opportunity to reflect on the progress made under Sultan Haitham’s rule and to celebrate the national unity and advancements achieved over the past five years. Government offices, businesses, and schools will be closed, allowing citizens to engage in events that honor this special occasion.

As Oman observes this significant anniversary, the Sultan’s vision for a thriving and peaceful future continues to resonate across the country, reinforcing his esteemed position in the hearts of the Omani people.
