Omani police have arrested a daily wage labourer on suspicion of stealing gold jewellery from her employer’s residence. The suspect was arrested red-handed at the same place where she worked, according to a statement released by the Royal Oman Police.
The employer also reported missing jewelry, leading to an investigation that soon traced back to the employee. A quick response from the police saw the stolen goods recovered and the woman arrested for further legal action.
The incident has raised debate on home security and trust, with authorities calling on homeowners to be vigilant when employing temporary staff. The police also advised residents to report anything suspicious and take proper measures to secure valuables at home.
The authorities have assured that legal action will be taken as per Oman’s laws. Further information on the case is likely to be revealed as the investigation continues.
