The Pakistani government has charged a couple with killing a young domestic servant, after the child was beaten to death with a rolling pin for having allegedly stolen chocolate. The incident has triggered national outrage, drawing attention to the suffering of child laborers and abuse within domestic environments.

As per police reports, the minor victim was working as a maid for the couple when she was alleged to have committed theft. In a gruesome instance of violence and brutality, she was beaten brutally, resulting in her untimely death. The couple has been taken into custody, and authorities are demanding severe legal action according to Pakistan’s child protection acts.

Activists and rights groups have condemned the incident and demanded tighter measures to stop child labor and domestic violence. There are a lot of appeals for the government to act straight away to safeguard vulnerable children from such ordeals.

As proceedings go on in the case, there is mounting pressure on Pakistan’s court system to deliver fair and speedy justice and strengthen laws that secure children’s protection from violence and exploitation.
