A group of Lahore university students has become viral for their retro recreation of the classic Bollywood tune ‘Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya’ from the 1960 film “Mughal-e-Azam”. The campus-filmed video features the students in period attire doing choreographed sequences that pay tribute to the classic movie.
The video has been widely shared on social media, with users complimenting the students’ creativity, attention to detail, and emotional performance. “We used to watch Bollywood classics as a kid, and this was our tribute to cinema history,” one of the students said.
Viewers from Pakistan and India swamped the comments with praise, observing how art crosses borders. Even Bollywood fans expressed admiration for the effort, labeling it as a “beautiful tribute to a timeless masterpiece.
The recreation not only emphasizes cross-border cultural appreciation but also how student-initiated projects can lead to discussions regarding mutual history and cinema.
