Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commissioned Vantara, a world-class wildlife rescue and conservation center in Gujarat. With more than 2,000 species and over 1.5 lakh rescued animals, the facility is set to offer a sanctuary for threatened wildlife and support conservation and rehabilitation activities.
Situated in Gujarat’s Gir district, Vantara is created to rescue, rehabilitate, and safeguard wildlife victims of habitat destruction, poaching, and wildlife trade. The centre includes special enclosures, veterinary treatment units, and breeding facilities, so rescued animals are treated with the best care in a natural environment.
PM Modi underlined that Vantara will be a key partner in augmenting India’s efforts to conserve wildlife, which are synchronized with international environmental objectives. The centre will also be an institution for education, generating awareness of the preservation of biodiversity with research and community interventions.
With its huge green expanse and world-class infrastructure, Vantara will be a major wildlife conservation site in India. Conservationists and animal enthusiasts alike welcome this project as a major move towards safeguarding India’s rich natural heritage.
