Punjab Police Shatter US-Based Smuggler’s Drug Ring, Grab 23kg Heroin

Punjab authorities have cracked a huge drug network run by a US-based smuggler, grabbing 23kg of heroin in a high-profile crackdown. The drive is the part of the state’s aggressive approach under the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign to eliminate drug trafficking.

Police have detained a number of operatives in the global drug syndicate. The syndicate was bringing heroin from abroad and selling it throughout Punjab, officials said. The raid is being hailed as a huge success in the state’s fight against the drug menace.

The crackdown is an indication of Punjab’s tough attitude towards narcotics trade. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has promised zero tolerance for drug cartels, with law enforcement agencies intensifying surveillance and intelligence operations to destroy smuggling networks.

As drug trafficking remains a major social issue, the authorities are determined to eliminate the threat. Increased arrests and seizures are on the cards as Punjab continues to crack down on organized drug syndicates that operate locally and globally.
