The Quba Mosque, recognized as the first mosque in Islam, has reached a remarkable spiritual milestone with over 19 million worshippers visiting the site in Medina since the start of 2024, according to official statistics. This historic site, established by Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) in the 7th century during the Hijira, serves not only as a symbol of faith but also as a hub of community and history.

A Visionary Expansion
Currently, the Quba Mosque is undergoing its largest expansion to date, which will increase its capacity to 66,000 worshippers as part of the King Salman bin Abdulaziz project. Initiated in 2022, this ambitious plan aims to modernize and expand the mosque’s facilities while maintaining its spiritual and historical significance.

Once completed, the mosque will cover 50,000 square meters—ten times its current size—making it one of the most accommodating Islamic landmarks. Additionally, the courtyards surrounding the mosque have been enhanced with modern amenities to provide a seamless experience for visitors.

Enhanced Worship Experience
The mosque has been adorned with 8,000 square meters of lush carpeting and includes advanced storage for Zamzam water, with a capacity of 98,000 liters. Continuous transportation services have also been established, ensuring easy access for both residents and pilgrims.

A Pilgrim’s Journey
For many pilgrims performing Umrah or visiting Medina, praying at the Quba Mosque is a treasured part of their journey. After completing their rites at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, they often travel to Medina to visit the Prophet’s Mosque and other sacred sites, with Quba holding a special significance for them.

Historical and Spiritual Legacy
Constructed in the first year of Hijira, the Quba Mosque remains a timeless symbol of Islamic heritage and community spirit. Its ongoing expansion guarantees that future generations will continue to connect with its deep historical and spiritual essence.

As the Quba Mosque evolves to meet the needs of modern worshippers while safeguarding its rich legacy.
