Reese Witherspoon has confirmed officially that Lexi Minetree is to play the part of young Elle Woods in the upcoming prequel series, Elle, based on the hit film Legally Blonde. The much-anticipated series will track Elle’s youth, far prior to the point where she delighted viewers with her classic Harvard Law saga.
Developed by Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, Elle will explore the backstories of the iconic character, highlighting her adolescence, drive, and experiences that transformed her into the self-assured, pink-wearing force fans love. The prequel is set to retain the same humor, charm, and empowerment that catapulted the franchise to cultural phenomenon status.
Minetree, a rising star, fills the iconic shoes Witherspoon popularized in 2001. Fans have been thrilled about the casting, looking forward to how the new show will expand the Legally Blonde universe with new energy and retro references.
Witherspoon, who continues to be actively involved as an executive producer, expressed her excitement, referring to Elle as “a love letter to everyone who ever dared to dream big.” The series will launch on Amazon Prime Video, with production already in progress.
