As anticipation grows for the annual Dubai Ride, part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that Dubai Metro will operate on extended hours this Sunday, November 10. To support the thousands of cyclists expected to participate, the Metro will start running at 3 am and continue until midnight, ensuring that all riders can easily access the event and experience the excitement of cycling through Dubai’s iconic sights.
Early Start for an Unforgettable Event
The RTA’s extended hours are a great support for participants who will be arriving early to kick off their ride. Now in its fifth year, Dubai Ride has become incredibly popular, with last year seeing over 35,000 riders. This year’s event is expected to attract an even larger crowd, as cycling fans of all ages and abilities prepare to join in.
Cyclists can choose between two route options:
Family-Friendly Route: A 4km scenic path along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, starting at 6:15 am, perfect for a leisurely ride past Dubai Opera, Dubai Mall, and Burj Khalifa.
Challenging 12km Route: Designed for more experienced cyclists, this route runs along Sheikh Zayed Road and features landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, Museum of the Future, and Dubai Canal.
Commitment to a Smooth Event Experience
The RTA’s dedication to Dubai Ride highlights a broader commitment to ensuring smooth public transport solutions during major events in the city. By extending metro hours, participants and spectators will enjoy a seamless experience, with easy access to starting points and convenient travel options throughout the day.
This year’s Dubai Ride is poised to be one of the standout events on the Dubai Fitness Challenge calendar, as both residents and visitors take in the breathtaking skyline from a cyclist’s viewpoint, promoting a sense of community and fitness.
