The Egyptian forward converted a controversial penalty in the first half after a disputed foul on Cody Gakpo, before sealing the win with a stunning curled finish in the 75th minute. The victory extends Liverpool’s lead at the top to nine points, piling pressure on title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.
Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest made it to a historical 7-0 demolition of Brighton, a biggest top-flight win for them in decades. Here Chris Wood, his hat-trick came on a match day with goals by Morgan Gibbs-White, Neco Williams and Jota Silva along with the added Lewis Dunk own goal, while their results have shot Forest into third in the table and the promotion drive keeps surprising everybody.
