Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is facing new life threats, with a ransom demand of Rs20 million (Dh73,459,800) for his safety. On Tuesday, the Mumbai Traffic Police Control received a concerning message from an unknown sender. The sender warned of “dire consequences” if the money is not paid.
According to the Mumbai Police, the message indicated that Salman Khan’s life would be in danger if ransom is not paid. The authorities quickly informed the Worli Police Station. There a formal complaint was filed. An investigation was launched to identify the source of the threat.
This incident is just the latest in a series of threats directed at Khan over the past few months. Recently, on October 24, Mumbai Police arrested a man in Jamshedpur for sending death threats. He was working in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, demanding Rs 5 crore. That case is still under investigation. The law enforcement agencies are looking into possible connections between these threats and organized crime.
Earlier, on October 18, another threatening message aimed at Khan was sent to the Mumbai Traffic Police. It was followed by an apology from the sender on October 21, who claimed it was a “mistake.” Authorities are now trying to determine whether these incidents are part of a group or individual’s actions against the actor.
