A rare and intense cold wave has swept through northern Saudi Arabia, causing temperatures to drop to as low as -3°C in areas such as Tabuk, Al Jouf, Hail, and the Northern Border Province. Videos circulating online reveal frost-covered landscapes and icy roads, showcasing the region’s dramatic winter transformation.

These freezing temperatures, quite unusual for the region, have led residents and authorities to take additional precautions. The Saudi National Center for Meteorology has issued warnings about ongoing sub-zero conditions, advising the public to dress warmly and be cautious during outdoor activities and travel.

The cold spell has amazed both locals and tourists, with many capturing the frosty scenery and sharing their experiences on social media. From snow-dusted desert views to frozen water sources, the extreme weather has produced stunning, almost surreal visuals in an area typically recognized for its dry climate.

This rare event underscores the variety of Saudi Arabia’s climate and geography, drawing interest from winter enthusiasts around the world. As the cold wave continues, authorities are reminding drivers to stay alert on icy roads and residents to ensure proper heating and safety measures during this unexpected chill.
