In a significant move against illegal immigration, Saudi Arabia has detained over 20,000 people in a nationwide operation, as reported by the Ministry of Interior. This extensive crackdown took place from October 31 to November 6, involving coordinated field operations with various government agencies. The initiative aimed to address the rising issue of illegal residency violations in the kingdom.

The individuals arrested were found to be in breach of several immigration laws, such as living without the necessary documentation or overstaying their permits. Saudi authorities have made it clear that they have a zero-tolerance policy for these violations, as the country strives to regulate immigration and ensure compliance with its legal and social standards.

In a strong warning to those who assist illegal residents, the Ministry has stated that anyone convicted of aiding illegal immigrants could face severe consequences, including prison sentences of up to 15 years and fines reaching SR1 million. This stringent measure highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fighting illegal immigration and upholding national laws.

Through this crackdown, the government is also reinforcing its dedication to maintaining public security and order, stressing that all individuals within the country must adhere to legal residency requirements. The arrests serve as a clear indication that the Kingdom is intensifying its efforts to protect its borders and manage its population effectively.
