Enhancing services and the religious experience is the goal of the eight-month operating plan. Saudi Arabia’s Makkah, June 30, 2025: With an emphasis on improving the pilgrims’ spiritual experience and logistical support, Saudi Arabia has formally released its eight-month Umrah season operating plan for the Islamic year 1447 AH.
The programme, which was started by the Two Holy Mosques’ Presidency for Religious Affairs, is to provide outstanding services, encourage spiritual development, and guarantee effective crowd control throughout the Umrah season, which will last until Sha’ban 1447 AH (about May 2026).
Key features of the plan include:
Enhanced multilingual religious guidance through sermons, lectures, and digital platforms.
Deployment of more than 12,000 staff and volunteers to assist pilgrims.
Expansion of electronic fatwa services for accessibility across different languages.
Integration of smart technologies for crowd control, sanitation, and transportation.
“This plan reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to serving Islam and Muslims by ensuring a smooth and deeply meaningful pilgrimage,” said Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, Head of the Presidency.
Major infrastructure projects, like as the Grand Mosque’s enlargement and airport enhancements, are already underway as the Kingdom continues to invest in the Vision 2030 aim of hosting 30 million Umrah pilgrims yearly.
Both pilgrims and organisers are urged to use online reservation platforms, follow health precautions, and get up-to-date information through the official Saudi government applications.
The concept for this season sets a new standard for pilgrimages in the future by emphasising safety, hospitality, and spiritual elevation.
